Solemn Gratitude

I've always being taught to be grateful by my parents. My favorite part of Oscar moment is when the award receiver gave their thank you speech. Of course this silly-vain pot- 'ol me since the age of 9 has been imagining this particular moment, delivering my own thank you speech while holding this monumental award (a Mrs. Buttersworth syrup bottle in my reality) wearing a sparkly designer gown, cladded with Dame Elizabeth's worth of rocks, and glorious make-up and hairdo. As a child even as an adult I enjoyed this kind of silly portrayal in my head from time to time. Don't we all? Dont't lie! It is definately a self loving-guilt-free pleasure gesture, definately a fast fix to a self-ego stroke. Sounds pathetic? Na-ah! I can tell you why. Now, there is a new spin to this old repertoire. As a child we all dreamed, hoping that someday when we grow up we would become someone uber cool, successful, or grown up to be someone who we idolized. Along the journey to adulthood, this little child will experience different things, bombarded with series of events, met individuals who are eventually influence or got influenced by our own existence. Eventually this little child becomes his/her own unique adult being. Sadly, sometimes as a result of this cruel world, this little child does not exists within anymore. It all begins with disappointments towards other individuals, then frustration came and it turns into a depression, bitterness arrived clouding minds, hindering growth, sunshine and sucking-up all the joy in life. There are many self-help books and tips on "How to be happy" and "How to forgive" out there. I confess I've read some of them in attempt to fix my dark moments. Come on don't laugh! I know a lot of you guys must have read it too at least once in your life. From all of those thousands tips on how to be happy, there is one particular point that clings to me. It is how we have to be thankful. Especially to be thankful for series of events which involves people that you met along your own journey. So, I've came out with my own list of people to thank for every single day. I listed their name in my little black book in private and put down what I thank them for. Basically it's like building your own little "Thank you lists for your own award acceptance", but the difference is that this list will not get publicized. But, hey it may came up handy in the future if you need them for an award ceremony! You can either say thank you for people who inspires you, help you, all the way to the individuals who pisses you off and because of them you are becoming the now your fabulous self. For example: Thank you ex-boss who always inspires me, now that I always look back to our creative moments together whenever I felt un-creative or Thank you ex-boyfriend for being a true you (a.k.a jerk) that now I am now with this new "oh so cool non-jerk" boyfriend. One other example from small events in our daily life; Barista at coffee shop you pisses me off because you move so slow I almost climb the counter to take over your job and fix my own coffee, but Thank you for being slow because I have a moment to realize that I have to learn to be more patient to other patron. Each day, or from time to time you will add new names and pray for them in private, thankful for their existence, thankful for series of events that happened as the outcome of interaction with them and finally say thank you to the Creator. I've been doing this and it helped me to come down to earth and I can see clearly that things happens for a reason. It is definitely a moment of "Chill, breathe and reflect", and slowly happiness creeps into your life. Happy Sunday EVERYBODY!! Thank you all for reading, now I need to practice my own thank you speech *reaching Mrs.Butterworth's syrup bottle* Teeheeee!Anyhooooo...in the spirit of gratitude I found this gorgeous DIY thank you note. Plus chill music for your relaxing sunday from my new fav band KOOP.

Ardistia New York

I got this one in Cream, very appropriate for Christmas a la tropicale!

This one screams VAVAVOOMM!!!

OMG it is HOLIDAY SEASON!!!! Don't be afraid, I've prepared myself with pretty new dresses I brought from my new friend NYC Fashion Designer, Disti. She is the designer of her own fabulous line called Ardistia New York, which I LOVE! So, the coveting of these 2 new dresses came with a story. I was at my friend's, Gita, Wedding in Bali last October, I barely knew anyone so I went there with my partner in crime Hamphrey. All night long we were just drinking wines people watching and bashing fest "Joan Rivers" style. Then, Disti came to picture in her pink and black long dress with cute modern take of traditional ribbons detail and Hamphrey was like, "Omg, LOVE that dress, honey, you should ask her where she got it from? I answered, "Honey, I'm too classy to do that?!". After drinkies of blanc, rouge and rose, it was time for the WEDDING DANCE!!!! We were happy and tipsy, everything went so fast. Gita called me to her table, introduce me to her husband, Gita introduce me to her single friends and finally to Disti!! Without hesitating I said this to her, "Hi I'm Santi, nice to meet you. I like your dress, where did you get it?" HA!!!! hahahah....so much for being classy. So that was the beginning of me befriending her, we talk all night about her line, and how I miss New York, envied her that she still lives there, traveling back and forth several times a year to Jakarta. She showed me a little pamphlet containing her latest Sp2011 collection and before we know it she invited me to her trunk show in Jakarta. And I was totally in loooooveeee with everything she has, how incredible the quality and design is, totally my cup o tea. So that's how I got these 2 dresses above at the trunk show. Amazing Ujung Kulon Adventure Trip

So as I told you guys on my last post, I went to Ujung Kulon for a long weekend Vacation. and It was the most Gorgeous place EVER. This trip is totally recommended to anyone who has that inner naturalist at heart. There were 12 of us who went there and we conquered the long 7-9 hours drive (we got lost on the way there), island hopping, snorkeling, wild oyster feasting at it's own natural habitat (we literally shucked the oysters from the corals), sleeping outdoor plus stargazing and a 2 hour hiking through the jungle and seashores which was ended up being a 4 hours hiking because we got lost. We all got sunburned, got some toned muscle, and came home happy like 12 year old kids after a ridiculously fun summer camp. oohh....happy....so here it is I got some souvenirs to share :) Life is good people!!
ps: we didn't get to see the rhino at all because we were too damn noisy. Rhinos are shy and very sensitive to human smell and movement.

Hottest White Shirts by Proklamasi

White shirt is my usually go-to- staple when I have no idea what to wear, in fact I was addicted. My best friend had to stop me from buying white shirts when she saw my then color coordinated walk-in closet. That was a long time ago when I was in college. This weekend I went to Brightspot Market and found this label called PROKLAMASI which is literally means freedom in Indonesian. And...YESSSIIRR my old addiction to white shirts was resurfacing again. So, I decided to buy one, just...one shirt, style number#1 with beautiful over sized cowl necks (see picture above). The cut was great, the material is soft and perfect for humid and hot weather in Jakarta and this shirt can go from office straight to cocktail. You can dress it up and down. Endless possibilities. What's really cool about it also, because it is designed and produced in Indonesia. Hell yeah...I can be pretty patriotic and I ain't got any shame! I guess I'm pretty much hooked-up with this label. Thank you girlfriend (I am 100% positively sure the designer is a girl)!! Whoever you are the genius behind this label :) Looking forward to getting more.....and more...and more...stylish white shirts!!!

Chic Blue "Bajaj" by Italian Piaggio

If you are not from Jakarta or Indonesian you might be wondering what I meant by Bajaj. Bajaj is an inexpensive alternative form of transportation in Jakarta, India and Bangkok (called tuk tuk in Bangkok). It's machine is always been made by Piaggio/Vespa with inexpensive made body. This image of Blue Bajaj is the Pimped-out version of it's older sisters, blinged with polished chromed metals, and white leather seats. I will need to find out more about its detailed specs later on. I would love to try to drive around the busy streets of Jakarta in this just for the fun of it. I wonder if the machine "purrs" softer than its loud mouthed sister. ;)

Chanel Pétanque Set

Pétanque season is HERE! I came across this image from the fabulous blog of Garance Doré. She is attending an invitation by Chanel to view their cruise collection in Saint-Tropez while pétanque games will be held for invited fashionistas. This is the chicest pétanque set I ever lay my eyes on. Ofcourse it is chic because it is by Chanel! Usually this game is played by older fellows in the south of France. Who knows that playing pétanque could be very fashionable. Grandpas watch out!
