Manolo Blahnik Store in Dubai by DNA

Pics Via Data Nature
Alright people, we might think that just because Kristina Blahnik has a DNA connection with Manolo (he is her uncle) then she got to do all of his stores. Well, first of all, I love her her firm's name DNA (no pun intended), abbreviation from Data Nature Associate. Her and her partner Nicholas Leith-Smith are using scientific datas from the nature as basic concept for their project. Pretty neat eh? I love the picture where they utilize the beehive partition as part of the merchandising display. Also I'm liking the clusters of Tom Dixon's pendants collection (Stout and beat) they use for this Dubai store, they resembles the bees. Pstt.... I am currently using these pendants too for my current project. Just a coincidence, I swear! Ooohh.....Great minds thinks alike ;)

Hedgehog Building by Moxon Architects

Images Via Travel With Frank Gehry

The Hedgehog building by UK based Moxon Architects. Location: Preston, Lancashire, North West of England. They called the "spikes" as fins, which not only used for aesthetic reason but also serve as protection from the sun and rain. Life is so funny. I had similar idea for one of my restaurant project to create this "hedgehog" look. But I was going to be using chopsticks for the "spikes"and it was going to be for ceiling application. After a really long-deep-thinking, we decided to nixed the idea and went with something else. But I loooooovveeeeeeeeeeeeeeee how this building look, expecially it looks slightly different it depends where you are standing. To read and see more photos for this project click here.

Reed Danziger

Images Via Reed Danziger

I cannot stop starring at these Reed Danziger paintings for hours, there is this ethereal, mystical, sci-fi fairy tale quality look to it. You have to look at them in person or look at it close-up. It is so amazing, my eyes were literary dancing following each shapes and line movements like a roller coaster. You will find something new everytime you see it. The color palette is very soothing but yet striking.

Pamela Sunday Sculptures

I think I am having some kind of sculpture-bug fever these days. I'm sorry if it is kind of redundent posting similar kind of subject 2 days in a row. I just can't help it babe! I found-out about Pamela Sunday from this fabulous blog called, Bloomacious Blog. Look how adorable and uber-cool-giant-size her asteroids-like sculptures are. Inspired by nature and high-end craftmanship, Pamela hand-made all of her work herself. See more of her work here. Some of those would look cute in a special corner of my Atelier.

Flash Back Memory of Michelle Oka Donner

I took a walk down the memory lane today. It was about my days as an intern and Michelle Oka Donner work. I saw her work for the very first time when I was an interning in New York, helping taking-off The Hamptons Showhouse instalation. The firm borrowed several pieces but there was this one piece from The Burning Bush collection that is unforgetable. It took my breath away when I laid my eyes on it. I still remember trying to help the mover to pack it carefully to be returned to the gallery. Still until now I remember how delicate but sturdy the casting feels when I touched it. One day, when I'm rich, one of these will sit on my living room ;)
