Ardistia New York

I got this one in Cream, very appropriate for Christmas a la tropicale!

This one screams VAVAVOOMM!!!

OMG it is HOLIDAY SEASON!!!! Don't be afraid, I've prepared myself with pretty new dresses I brought from my new friend NYC Fashion Designer, Disti. She is the designer of her own fabulous line called Ardistia New York, which I LOVE! So, the coveting of these 2 new dresses came with a story. I was at my friend's, Gita, Wedding in Bali last October, I barely knew anyone so I went there with my partner in crime Hamphrey. All night long we were just drinking wines people watching and bashing fest "Joan Rivers" style. Then, Disti came to picture in her pink and black long dress with cute modern take of traditional ribbons detail and Hamphrey was like, "Omg, LOVE that dress, honey, you should ask her where she got it from? I answered, "Honey, I'm too classy to do that?!". After drinkies of blanc, rouge and rose, it was time for the WEDDING DANCE!!!! We were happy and tipsy, everything went so fast. Gita called me to her table, introduce me to her husband, Gita introduce me to her single friends and finally to Disti!! Without hesitating I said this to her, "Hi I'm Santi, nice to meet you. I like your dress, where did you get it?" HA!!!! hahahah....so much for being classy. So that was the beginning of me befriending her, we talk all night about her line, and how I miss New York, envied her that she still lives there, traveling back and forth several times a year to Jakarta. She showed me a little pamphlet containing her latest Sp2011 collection and before we know it she invited me to her trunk show in Jakarta. And I was totally in loooooveeee with everything she has, how incredible the quality and design is, totally my cup o tea. So that's how I got these 2 dresses above at the trunk show. Amazing Ujung Kulon Adventure Trip

So as I told you guys on my last post, I went to Ujung Kulon for a long weekend Vacation. and It was the most Gorgeous place EVER. This trip is totally recommended to anyone who has that inner naturalist at heart. There were 12 of us who went there and we conquered the long 7-9 hours drive (we got lost on the way there), island hopping, snorkeling, wild oyster feasting at it's own natural habitat (we literally shucked the oysters from the corals), sleeping outdoor plus stargazing and a 2 hour hiking through the jungle and seashores which was ended up being a 4 hours hiking because we got lost. We all got sunburned, got some toned muscle, and came home happy like 12 year old kids after a ridiculously fun summer camp. oohh....happy....so here it is I got some souvenirs to share :) Life is good people!!
ps: we didn't get to see the rhino at all because we were too damn noisy. Rhinos are shy and very sensitive to human smell and movement.

Going to the Jungle!

My sweets, I will be going to the National Park in Ujung Kulon to get in touch with my inner "naturalist butch". Ujung Kulon is located at the most western tip of Java island. We will be seeing a lot of cool animals, especially the endangered species of Java Rhino. The difference with it's African cousin is that it only has a single horn instead of two. No, this trip is not going to be glamorous but it will be a once in a life time kind of thing. Plus, an ex-Elite supermodel who I cannot mention her name over here is going to be joining us as well. Well, OK actually she is going to be the only glamorous thing in the jungle for 4 days and 3 nights. Hmmm....editorial photo shoots with the Rhinos anybody?? Wish me luck!

La Villa, Paris

Dahhlinng.....some people might say that this restaurant/ piano bar/ cocktail place looks like a chic retirement home but I think this place is rather dashing and romantic. I love how they use "Agent Provocateur" pinks here and there tastefully. Loving the simple graphic on the ceiling and body landscape artwork across the bar. Please stop by if you happened to be in the Paris.

Picture by Hamphrey Tedja taken somewhere in Bangkok when we were out drinking or something, I don't remember much about this picture but it is pretty hahahahah.....

d. Slammed with more work after I came back from the wedding.
e. my body is really mad at me and I had to stay at home and sleep.

Snowflake Instalation for Kartell by Tokujin Yoshioka

Pictures via Dezeen

Kartell Showroom in Milan was designed by Tokujin Yoshioka for 2010 Salone. Yoshioka is an Uber purist kind of guy, which is one of the dying breeds in design world. This immpressive arrangement of transparent plastic sticks were formed to create modern snowflake shapes.
This is the quote from the master himself, "I am drawn by things that do not have forms but leave emotional effect to people. At a glance, such material is invisible and its existence is erased. Through the interaction with light, however, the form suddenly emerges. I am fascinated not only with such phenomena, but also elements that can stir and stimulate our imagination. I also like the idea of light, which is the form of design itself." Read more...

Hottest White Shirts by Proklamasi

White shirt is my usually go-to- staple when I have no idea what to wear, in fact I was addicted. My best friend had to stop me from buying white shirts when she saw my then color coordinated walk-in closet. That was a long time ago when I was in college. This weekend I went to Brightspot Market and found this label called PROKLAMASI which is literally means freedom in Indonesian. And...YESSSIIRR my old addiction to white shirts was resurfacing again. So, I decided to buy one, just...one shirt, style number#1 with beautiful over sized cowl necks (see picture above). The cut was great, the material is soft and perfect for humid and hot weather in Jakarta and this shirt can go from office straight to cocktail. You can dress it up and down. Endless possibilities. What's really cool about it also, because it is designed and produced in Indonesia. Hell yeah...I can be pretty patriotic and I ain't got any shame! I guess I'm pretty much hooked-up with this label. Thank you girlfriend (I am 100% positively sure the designer is a girl)!! Whoever you are the genius behind this label :) Looking forward to getting more.....and more...and more...stylish white shirts!!!

Crystal Rock Bathtub by Italian Company Baldi

This is what I call MAJOR! This bathtub is carved from a gigantic chunk of crystal rock found at Amazon rain forest. Took them 6 months to carved out the bathtub using diamond cutters. A must have if you are A)A hippy with lots of moolah, B) Superman, C) Victoria Beckham ( don't ask me why, I can totally see her in it with her Beck if England won the World Cup).

Ps: Thanks to RJ Nauta to point this out to me.
Ps#2: So England got it's ass kicked by Germany last night....no Crystal Rock Bathtub for you Vicky! boohooo....

Chic Blue "Bajaj" by Italian Piaggio

If you are not from Jakarta or Indonesian you might be wondering what I meant by Bajaj. Bajaj is an inexpensive alternative form of transportation in Jakarta, India and Bangkok (called tuk tuk in Bangkok). It's machine is always been made by Piaggio/Vespa with inexpensive made body. This image of Blue Bajaj is the Pimped-out version of it's older sisters, blinged with polished chromed metals, and white leather seats. I will need to find out more about its detailed specs later on. I would love to try to drive around the busy streets of Jakarta in this just for the fun of it. I wonder if the machine "purrs" softer than its loud mouthed sister. ;)

Fifty People, One Question: London from Fifty People, One Question on Vimeo.

One question: Where would you like to be when you wake up in the morning? They questioned 5o people in London. This is a simple video but done very beautifully. Reminds me of my early year art school project, but i think this one is way sweeter than mine. Well done!

Happy Saturday Sunshine!

I've been very sick with tropical malady these past weeks. I spent way too much time in my bedroom because doctor ordered me a strict bed rest order. This morning, the sun was beautiful and I took picture of the ray peeking through my bedroom's plantation style shutters window. Happy Saturday everybody, take care and stay healthy because the weather changed from rain to very hot in a very extreme way.
